The nights are getting clear and long The curtains are blowing There goes another year, another song Never thought I’d last this long But that’s o.k. It doesn’t matter anyway I still have these photographs I still have those dreams When there’s no place left to hide The road is free and wide Dana has a smile like a negligee The more she wears it the less I say I can see Dana slip away The time is getting near and soon I’ll go down to meet her We’ll have another beer, another tune And play it to an empty room But that’s o.k. It doesn’t matter anyway I still have these photographs I still have those dreams When there’s no place left to hide The road is free and wide Dana has a smile like a negligee The more she wears it the less I say And I can see Dana slip away
